MC Digital Agency, operating as M Creative Studio ("we", "us", "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and what control you have over it.

Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Name, email address, billing address, and phone number
- Order history and download records
- Payment information — processed by our payment providers. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Newsletter subscription details
- For service clients: business information, website and platform credentials, analytics access, brand assets, and any material you send us during a project
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages viewed, referring site, time on site, and actions taken
- Cookies and similar technologies
Information from third parties
- Advertising and analytics platforms, where you have arrived via or interacted with our campaigns
- Payment processors confirming transaction status
Why we use it
- Fulfilling orders — processing payment, delivering download links, sending order confirmations
- Providing services — performing contracted work, communicating on projects, reporting
- Support — responding to enquiries and troubleshooting
- Marketing — sending our newsletter and offers, only with your consent
- Improving the site — understanding traffic and conversion patterns
- Security and fraud prevention — detecting misuse and protecting accounts
- Legal obligations — tax records, accounting, and responding to lawful requests
If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (orders and services), consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (site security, fraud prevention, service improvement), and legal obligation (record-keeping).
Consent
By providing personal information for an order or enquiry, you consent to our using it for that purpose. Marketing consent is separate and express — we do not add customers to the newsletter automatically.
You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing melissa@mcreativestudio.ca or using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer provide a service.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders and payments
- Payment processors, to complete transactions
- Our email marketing platform, to send communications you have subscribed to
- Analytics and advertising providers, to measure site performance and campaign results
- Professional advisors such as our accountant, under confidentiality obligations
- Authorities, where required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights
Each provider is permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
Relationship with Shopify
This store is hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the store in order to provide and improve it. Information you submit will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify, as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside. To learn more, see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights through the Shopify Privacy Portal.
Where your information goes
Our providers operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Personal information stored in another country is subject to that country's laws and may be accessible to its courts and law enforcement. By using the site, you acknowledge this transfer.
Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognised transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the destination country has been determined to provide an adequate level of protection.
Cookies
We use:
- Essential cookies — cart, checkout, session, and security. The site does not function without these.
- Analytics cookies — how visitors find and move through the site.
- Marketing cookies — measuring advertising performance and showing relevant ads.
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent checkout from working.
Email marketing and CASL
We send marketing emails only with your express consent, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We do not add customers to our newsletter automatically after a purchase.
Every marketing email we send includes our business name, our mailing address, and a working unsubscribe link. You may withdraw consent at any time, and we will action it within 10 business days.
How long we keep it
- Order and transaction records: 7 years, as required for Canadian tax and accounting purposes
- Client project files and correspondence: 3 years after the engagement ends
- Newsletter subscriber data: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings of the relevant platform
Your rights
You may ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your information, subject to our legal retention obligations
- Withdraw consent to marketing
- Port your information to another provider in a structured, machine-readable format
Residents of the EEA and UK additionally have the right to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
Residents of Quebec additionally have the right to request de-indexing of information and to be informed of any automated decision-making. We do not use automated decision-making.
Email melissa@mcreativestudio.ca. We respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Canadian privacy law
MC Digital Agency is located in Alberta, Canada. Our handling of personal information is governed by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls, and PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We recommend you do not use unsecured channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.
If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant privacy commissioner as required by law.
Children
Our site and products are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
Our site may link to websites or platforms operated by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Review their policies before use. Our inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, including to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated date, and provide notice where required by law. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376). Residents of other jurisdictions may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
