Spec Sheet & Data Sheet PDF Design

Design of a branded spec sheet or data sheet template and production of finished, printable PDFs, for manufacturers, distributors and suppliers that need consistent sheets for customers, dealers, tenders or trade shows, with the option of linking them from Shopify product pages. Product specifications are often spread across supplier PDFs, spreadsheets and old documents in different formats, or exist only as text on a web page. Each sheet puts dimensions, materials and certifications in one clean, predictable layout.

Each sheet covers one product or one product family, on one or two pages. Projects over 50 sheets need a quote. Request a quote through the contact page.

What's included

• Branded template design using the existing logo, colours and fonts, with a cover-style header, product image area and footer for contact details, revision date and document number.
• Structured layout for specifications, dimensions, materials, ratings, certifications and approvals, compatible parts or accessories, and product images or line drawings.
• Sheet production: product information placed into the template for each sheet in the purchased tier, with consistent units, terminology and formatting.
• Proofreading of layout and formatting against the supplied data.
• PDF export of every sheet, print-ready and optimized for web download, with consistent file names.
• Editable source file handoff in Canva, so new sheets can be made from the same template. InDesign or other source formats are not provided.
• Optional Shopify upload: each PDF uploaded to Shopify Files and linked from its product page as a download, using a product metafield.

What I need from you

• Product data for each sheet (spreadsheet, existing PDFs, supplier documents or web page content).
• Product images, drawings or diagrams, at the best resolution available.
• Logo files and any brand guidelines.
• Certification marks or approval logos that may be used, with confirmation that they apply to each product.
• For the Shopify upload: staff account access to the Shopify admin with permission to manage products and files.

How it works

1. Purchase the tier that matches the number of sheets. A short intake form follows by email.
2. Send the completed form, product data and images.
3. The template is designed and sent by email as a sample sheet for approval, within 5 to 7 business days.
4. Remaining sheets are produced after template approval: about 1 week for 5 sheets, 2 to 3 weeks for 25 and 4 weeks for 50.
5. The finished PDFs are reviewed. One round of revisions is included on the template and one on the finished sheets.

Consultation included

A 60-minute consultation is included with this package. The booking link is sent by email after purchase, along with your intake form. If you're in the Edmonton area, an in-person meeting is available instead.

What you get at the end

A set of consistent, branded PDF spec sheets, an editable Canva template for future sheets, and, if chosen, each sheet linked from its Shopify product page.

Not included

• Writing or verifying technical specifications. Content is laid out as supplied, and accuracy remains the responsibility of the manufacturer or supplier.
• Technical drawings, CAD work or new product photography.
• Translation.
• Printing.
• InDesign, Illustrator or other non-Canva source files.
• Projects over 50 sheets, which need a quote.
